Another successful ESA Meeting!

Everyone had a great time at the 98th annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America in Minneapolis. Matt Petrie presented a paper during one of the prized late Friday morning time slots on, "Water limited ecohydrology and carbon sink-source dynamics of desert grasslands and shrublands during dry years, Chihuahuan Desert, USA." Syd Jones presented a poster on, "More extreme rainfall patterns and plant community structure in native tallgrass prairie." Laura Ladwig also presented a poster on, "The surprising sensitivity of ecosystem structure and function to winter climate anomalies." Scott "the ghost of ecology past" Collins did an ignite session on the future of ecology. Time to change the message of ecologists from the party of "NO" to ecology as a solution based science. Gonna take some time and effort, but it will make a difference. Next ESA is in Sacramento.....
