Sevilleta LTER 2009 Site Visit

The Sevilleta LTER Program experienced its regularly scheduled NSF sponsored two and a half day root canal on 12-14 August 2009.

The site visit team included John Sparks (Utah State), Gary Belovsky (Notre Dame), Walter Dodds (Kansas State), Susan Remillard (Oregon State) and Stan Smith (UNLV), along with NSF LTER Program Director Todd Crowl. The team was subjected to an evening overview session, two mornings of synthesis presentations, a half day field trip, a poster session and a luncheon with the UNM Brass. The site visit team verbally summarized their recommendations in a brief session during the late afternoon on the 14th, and they will be submitting their final report and recommendations to NSF shortly. That report will be posted on the Sevilleta LTER website (http://sev.lternet.edu) once we get it from NSF. Overall, the site visit team made several very useful recommendations that will help to improve the overall strength and cohesiveness of our integrated research program.
