LoboSEEDS to receive UNM-Turner Foundation Research Grant

The Ecological Society of America established the SEEDS Program to, "diversify and advance the ecology profession through opportunities that stimulate and nurture the interest of underrepresented students to not only participate in ecology, but to lead.

Sally Koerner Successfully Defends Her Dissertation!

Sally Koerner defended her disseration, Effects of Global Change on Savanna Grassland Ecosystems," on 22 June 2012 in front of familly and friends. Dr Sally then celebrated at a barbeque and party that probably hasn't stopped yet.....

Starting October 1, 2012, Sally will start a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Colorado State University working with Dr. Melinda Smith on a variety of on-going projects at Konza Prairie. Congratulations to Sally!

Michell Thomey Defends her Dissertation!

Congratulations to Michell Thomey who successfully defended her PhD dissertation, "The effects of precipitation variability on C4 photosynthesis, net primary production and soil respiration in a Chihuahuan Desert grassland," on 2 May 2012! Dr. Michell then had the opportunity to celebrate the event with her family before heading off to California and a well deserved vacation. Upon return Michell will be a postdoc with Will Pockman (and me) here at UNM on our recently funded EDGE project. Congratulations Michell!
