Our group investigates the ecological impacts of climate variability and climate change on ecosystems in the US desert southwest, tallgrass prairie in Kansas, and savanna grasslands in South Africa.

2012 Sevilleta LTER Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program

Sevilleta on the Road

Presentations on rainfall manipulation experiments and Sevilleta LTER were given at the Institute of Ecological Botany, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Vacratot, Hungary in April and the International Association of Vegetation Science Annual Meeting in Lyon, France in June 2011. It is encouraging to see and learn about so many interesting experiments on climate change being conducted in grassland ecosystems around the globe. Next up...the global rainfall manipulation experiment. Stay tuned....

Ecological Society of America News

Scott Collins will become President Elect of the Ecological Society of America starting at the ESA Annual meeting in August 2011, President in August 2012 and Past-President in August 2013. The Ecological Society of America is the country's primary professional organization of ecologists, representing over 10,000 scientists in the United States and around the world.
